And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.”  1 Corinthians 15:49

There was no doubt in these words from the apostle. He would go on to say that we shall all be changed, v. 51. He was indeed confident that He that began a good would complete it at the day of Christ, Phil. 1:6. When we came to Him we were instantly washed, cleansed and justified through the Spirit of God, 1 Corinthians 6:11. But one day, we will be glorified and then we will know the reality of the words: “the work which His goodness began, the arm of His strength will complete”.  All the trials, all the tears, all the toils–the means by which our future sanctification is achieved will have fulfilled their purpose that we bear His image.

It will be worth it all when we see Jesus,
Life’s trials will seem so small when we see Christ;
One glimpse of His dear face all sorrow will erase,
So bravely run the race till we see Christ.
